Self Care Habits. We all know, without a doubt, how important self-care is. However, being able to actually put time and money into indulgent self-care activities is not something all of us can afford. Well, guess what, we don’t have to break the bank just to care for ourselves! Practicing self-care is as easy as drinking water (which is also one of the ways of doing it)
While there are numerous ways through which this can be done, we would like to focus on the top 4 self-care ideas that we think will work best for you!
1. Sleep
Yes, it is not only essential for your body, but for your mind too. Having something as basic as a proper sleep schedule is what can be a difficulty for many. Plus, you cannot stay up on caffeine forever, can you?
While we completely understand that no matter what phase of life you are in, you will almost always be too busy to sleep, we also need to understand that it is extremely important! Hence, keep this no cost self-care tip in mind and try your best to have a proper sleep schedule which doesn’t involve staying up past midnight!
2. Learn to Say No
While helping and caring about others is significant, not doing so with yourself can have adverse effects. To practice self-care means to give yourself the leverage of being able to say no when required. No one is asking you to be rude. Although, overburdening yourself just because you cannot politely say no to the other person is not the right thing to do.
If you find this difficult, maybe first try it with your family and friends, or people who you trust. Then, once you know when and where to use it, you will be able to set boundaries for yourself more easily.
3. Me Time
Sounds a bit narcissistic right? It’s not! The very basic thing that one needs to understand about self-care is the fact that being selfish or giving yourself some attention is anything but harmful. It makes you capable of appreciating yourself, which eventually translates into looking at the world with a positive attitude!
Dedicate a specific time for yourself, do anything that you enjoy doing. You can go for a walk, read a book, paint, cook, or just lie down if that’s what you need! Just listen to yourself and relax, even if it is just a 30-minute break, make sure you utilize it!
4. Take Care of Your Body
You may not realize how much work your body does on a daily basis, and not just your brain, but every part of your body needs some incentive to carry on with the speed at which it is currently working.
Take out some time in the morning for yoga/meditation to relax your mind, take care of your skin by trying natural and easy remedies, eat good food and drink lots of water to have a better immune system, and watch the wonders yourself!
