Cheeks covered in red bumps and zits are a common occurrence that more often than not shatter one’s confidence. Considering that, we decided to put together a quick guide on getting acne-free skin with the help of our skin therapy school experts. So here are three tips to abide by in order to have youthful, plump clear skin.
Wash Your Face Daily
It goes without saying that thorough cleansing with water and a cleanser is a must if anyone wishes to have that radiant skin like stars on TV. Exposure to air pollutants, residual makeup accumulation in pores, and oily discharge are harmful elements for the human skin and must be cleansed away diligently. The best and most convenient way to do so is washing your face daily, especially after a sweat session or makeup application (of course, not before you have charmed people with your dolled-up face).
When discussing face cleansing, it must be noticed that using the right face wash is also equally important as washing itself. You cannot use any random, off-the-shelf product for your skin. Consider your skin type before making a decision. For example, if you have oily skin, pick a cleanser that contains glycolic acid. For dry skin, soaps/face washes with lactic acids work best. And if you can’t select the right one for yourself, consult cosmetology and aesthetics professional to pick out one for you.
Don’t Over-Exfoliate Your Skin
Using grainy scrubs to remove dead skin is a common practice that is believed to improve skin health. While that’s true for the most part, if done more often than necessary, it can lead to skin damage. Exfoliating can pull healthy skin tissues, leaving open wounds and increasing the chances of scarring from acne. If you want to avoid that, use a scrub after 2-3 weeks.
Don’t Put On Makeup When Working Out
When we put on makeup, our pores are clogged, which means no sweat or oils from the pores reach the skin surface, leading to unhealthy compound accumulation. As a result, bacteria will inhabit the clogged, debris-filled pores and cause acne.
Moisturize Religiously
Many people assume that moisturizing the skin too much can make acne worse. But that’s a misconception.
A dried skin leads to overproduction of oils from the glands in the tissues, which only amplifies acne. Therefore, moisturizing regularly is critical to keep your skin acne-free. All that said, be sure to use a suitable, oil-based, gentle-on-the-skin moisturizer- one that doesn’t clog pores; if you don’t use such a product, frequent moistening can do more harm than good to your skin.
Soft, smooth velvety skin requires a bit of effort; if you are up for it, you should be able to have glowing skin.
