1. Skincare started with Cleopatra
If you’re wondering where the concept of skincare came from, here’s your answer. During her lifetime, Cleopatra started researching skincare techniques and she even went a step further by creating a manufacturing plant that made cosmetics, perfumes and skincare products. From hair dyes to nail polishes and other beauty products, she produced them all, so many years ago!
2. Natural ingredients are just as good as chemical ones
You may use chemical ingredients over natural ones for skincare thinking that the former is more effective. However, that’s not true! Natural ingredients will solve the problem just as well if not better, whether it’s acne or something else. In fact, sometimes, the chemical versions can be even harsher on your skin.
3. Your cellphone can cause acne
One of the best pieces of skincare advice that you can get is to use your phone less. Though you may not understand the link, using your cellphone a lot can cause breakouts. Think about it, your cellphone goes everywhere with you, meaning that it’s just as exposed to germs and bacteria. Every time you’re talking on the phone, this bacteria goes onto your skin, causing breakouts.
4. Sun damage can be caused while you’re indoors, too
Often, people think that sun damage is a result of them being outdoors. However, it can be caused by being indoors, too. UVA rays can come in through your windows, which is why you must apply sunscreen even when you’re indoors. It can lead to wrinkles and fine lines on your skin at an early age.
5. Second-hand smoke is just as bad for your skin
We all know that smoking is bad for the skin, but what you may not be aware of is the fact that second-hand smoke is just as bad for your skin! Being around smoke can cause your skin to sag and age a lot faster!
6. Queen Elizabeth made pale skin fashionable
Though this still may not be the case, pale skin was seen as a high beauty standard at one point and this is all thanks to Queen Elizabeth. Higher-class women were seen with paleness or white appearance and this was considered fashionable. They actually used vinegar and lead to create that unnatural paleness and lighten the skin tone.
